The two biggest holidays for me, are the 4th. of July, and Thanksgiving. Being economically challenged as a youth, we were grateful for the basics, and found something on this Day to be thankful for. The spirit of Thanksgiving should not be limited to a day, but, everyday.
Thanksgiving - thankfulness, the giving of thanks. We were thankful for a pair of shoes to wear. For the next pair, a detail account of how the current ones are being cared for. A good steward received more. To discuss the next pair required humbling down and pleading the case to the highest ranking people in my life[at that time], my parents.
The above was good training for my adulthood. Even though we can "boldly go before the LORD", we must maintain a humble and thanksgiving spirit. Phil.4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God.
4:6 explained = No anxiety, period. Stay in communication with the LORD, be sincere. Be grateful even in denied request, and know that needs are already known - do it anyway.
Blessings can not be counted; a spirit of thanksgiving can change a serious course, or light up a room. People that are sincere about Thanksgiving everyday, receive so much more; they usually are the biggest givers.
Happy Thanksgiving "YEAR" To All.
