"Be careful[anxiety] for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God". Quite often, the simple Scriptures are read over so quickly that it becomes meaningless. Simple to some, super to others. This is One that should be chewed, and re-chewed on.
Some Followers are continuing on a baby-food diet, and only verbalize when hungry, wet, or in a selfish mood. The Lord is a heart knower: He knows all about us-even our thoughts. Prayer is communication - very similar to the word communion! Both should be constant or continuous. Our Lord does not need a report from us.
Supplication: is a verb. It is humbling ourselves before God and man. We should strive to be in good-standings with Both; then we can boldly go before the throne... Christ Jesus said "we have not, because we ask amiss".
We must have an attitude of gratitude. Babies figure out how to humble themselves only to get what they desire at that time; then they move on to the next... We must learn, through trail, error, and practice to get our attitudes in the position to receive, grow and bless others.
With the legal holiday only days away, we should consider it an opportunity: to be Thankful, by demonstration. I'm Thankful for the basics, but also to see this day: "many Prophets of old would be very pleased to see the events of the world, and know the Truth.
