Once upon a time, not so long ago, I had zero compassion for Jonah. My thoughts were - he was disobediant: and got what he deserved. The past four years has caused me to study, exactly what really happened with Jonah. The Prophet Jonah was given instructions from the LORD; but fled. The situation in Nineveh was a lose, lose,😷 The ship he boarded had mariners that had their own "gods." When they got into a life and death situation (Jo.1:14), they were crying out to "the LORD." The "great fish" prepared by the LORD, swallowed Jonah, for three days he was dead: which is what Immanuel-Christ-Jesus employed as a witness for the religious-folks. Idolatry, violence, and wickedness was prevalent in Nineveh(Washington, District of Criminals). No doubt, the moment Jonah showed on the beach, people started Repenting. The king on down Repented: and the LORD stayed his Judgment. I and Jonah needed the LORD to execute Judgement. What started four years ago is not over. The LORD is Faithful, and Saving Souls until the end.🙌
Nineveh was a fish-worshipping town (Dagon). The LORD has a sense of humor😊
ReplyDeleteCommand fire come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did (John12:47).
ReplyDelete"I came not to Judge (condemn) the world, but to Save the world."
I am convinced that the world needs to Repent.
ReplyDeleteEventually Nineveh ran out of time.
